ISLAMIC, Ayyubids. Aleppo. al-Nasir II Yusuf, AH 634-658 / AD 1236-1260. Half Dirham (Silver, 13 mm, 1.52 g, 11 h), citing the Ayyubid ruler al-Nasir Yusuf II (1236-1259) and the Abbasid sultan al-Musta'sim (1242-1258), Dimashq, after AH 640 = AD 1242. Cf. Album 844.1 (for prototype). Very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.

The obverse of this interesting coin was struck from a dirham die, while the reverse derives from a proper half dirham die.
